These days one of the most cost effective ways to market a business is through vehicle graphics! Whether you have one car/truck or an entire fleet- these mobile displays are always moving about and attracting eyeballs. This is particularly true for the box trucks that many businesses use. They have large flat surfaces that are perfect for applying graphics and advertising for your business.
At Sequoia Signs & Graphics, we love to do vehicle graphics so imagine how happy we were when the good folks at Blueline Custom Cabinets gave us a call! They had a new box truck and wanted to add their name to both sides and the roll up rear door. Of course we were excited to take on the project.
Blueline Custom Cabinets produce high end cabinetry and have built quite a name for themselves in the area. They are Pleasant Hill company and just down the road from our facility.
In this case, we did not need to do much design because Blueline already had the artwork. In many other cases, our clients need our help designing the graphics and, again, this is something we love to do.
Although we consider box trucks to be flat surfaces, many of them have rivets that we need to work around. There are several ways to approach rivets -all of which address the ‘tenting’ that can occur if air is trapped.. Sometimes we cut the bottom of the rivet to allow air egress. Other times, we cut all around the rivet. In this case, we poked small holes in the vinyl and slowly worked the air out. We stopped at each rivet with a heat gun and rivet brush. We heat the vinyl up to 200 degrees which helps it forget its natural shape, then we use the rivet brush to tuck the vinyl in all around the rivets. The result is a beautifully smooth surface that appears to have been poured over the rivets.
As you can see in the photo, Blueline’s box truck came out great. If you have a box truck or any other type of vehicle that needs graphics- give us a call! 925.300.1066
We would be more than happy to discuss your options.
