Who doesn’t like a festival? At Sequoia Signs & Graphics, we love festivals and we also love helping with signage at these events. We recently had the opportunity to help the great folks at the Lafayette Art & Wine Festival with all of their festival signage. We produced many different signs from your basic “No Event Parking” to temporary sponsor decals on the shuttle buses, from stage line-ups to festival maps. It was a fun project.
Every year on the third weekend in September, Lafayette Art & Wine puts on one of the premier festivals in the SF bay area. For two days, the idyllic streets of Lafayette are filled with great art, great music and tasty wine and beer selections. If you have never been- mark your calendar for next year and you will not be sorry! In fact, this year, in addition to providing the signage, we volunteered at the event and can’t speak highly enough about the folks who put it on!
Festivals require a great deal of signage. At the Lafayette Art and Wine, we use a great deal of coroplast (corrugated plastic) signs. It is lightweight but pretty hearty material. We used coroplast for barricade signs as well as tied to streetlamps and stage poles. We even made coroplast ‘tents’ to put on top of the festival golf carts to advertise some of the sponsors. Easy to put up and easy to take down. The same goes for various banners that we produced for both the event itself and for some of the booth participants.
Another cool item was our Photo Tex shuttle bus sponsor graphics. This is a great material that is ‘low tack’ so it allowed us to advertise the bus sponsors on the sides of the busses- but with no lasting damage to the busses themselves. It peels off easily (in fact it can be reapplied many times)
